Very formal One should always remember to thank those Who have helped him to achieve success.

  7. Definite reference of personal pronoun Although you is appropriate in imperative sentences (such as a set of instructions), some teachers prefer that students avoid all uses of you and the imperative mood in academic writing such as research papers and reports. Informal Be sureto plug in the machine before you turn it on. Formal of Academic The operator should connect the machine to a power supply before he turns it on.

  8. Reference to a Noun, Not a Broad Idea A pronoun must refer to a specific noun, not to a broad idea stated in a preceding sentence or clause. This rule applies most strongly to which. In careful writing it also applies to the demonstratives this and that. Broad reference Jasonthought a chameleon is an amphibian, which is incorrect.
