We are excited to introduce the California Advanced Specialty (CAS) program in Discovery, aligned with NALA's ACP structure. This program provides a focused curriculum covering vital topics such as propounding discovery, responding to discovery requests, protective orders, and electronic discovery in California. To enroll, candidates must have a CLA or CP from NALA, three years of paralegal experience, and complete specific coursework. This certification enhances your skills and meets California's MCLE requirements, promoting professional growth in the paralegal field.

Requirements to take CAS - Discovery • Must first have CLA or CP from NALA • Must have at least 3 years of experience as a working paralegal • Must complete APC Course in Discovery • 13 modules covering Federal Discovery • Must complete CACPS Course in Discovery • 3 modules covering California Discovery
MCLE Requirements • CLA – 50 hours MCLE every 5 years (including 5 hours in ethics) • ACP and/or CAS – 20 hours every 5 years • TOTAL - 70 hours every 5 years • Still need to meet Calif. MCLE but most courses qualify for both
