Motion Back – Starts outside Tackle Box RESTRICTED: BACKS in motion are restricted if at any time after the RFP he is outside the tackle box BJ FJ SJ U LJ HL TE C G T G T S F QB RB RB R ADJACENT SIDELINE: Sideline outside of the player – since he crossed the center, it is the right sideline Motion RB remains RESTRICTED as he started outside the tackle box RB is completely outside tackle box - RESTRICTED

Motion Back – Starts inside, moves outside RESTRICTED: BACKS in motion are restricted if at any time after the RFP he is outside the tackle box BJ FJ SJ U LJ HL TE C G T G T S F QB RB R RB RB ADJACENT SIDELINE: Sideline outside of the player RB becomes RESTRICTED when his motion takes him outside the tackle box RB is UNRESTRICTED

Motion Back – Starts inside, moves outside RESTRICTED: BACKS in motion are restricted if at any time after the RFP he is outside the tackle box BJ FJ SJ U LJ HL TE C G T G T S F QB RB R RB RB RB becomes RESTRICTED when his motion takes him outside the tackle box RB is UNRESTRICTED ADJACENT SIDELINE: Sideline outside of the player RB remains RESTRICTED because he was outside the tackle box and did not reset inside

  17. Motion Back – Starts outside, resets inside RESTRICTED: BACKS in motion are restricted if at any time after the RFP he is outside the tackle box BJ FJ SJ U LJ HL TE C G T G T S F QB RB RB RB R RB is completely outside tackle box Motion RB resets within the tackle box making him UNRESTRICTED

Motion Back – Starts outside, resets inside RESTRICTED: BACKS in motion are restricted if at any time after the RFP he is outside the tackle box BJ FJ SJ U LJ HL TE C G T G T S F QB RB R RB RB RB is completely outside tackle box - RESTRICTED Motion RB resets within the tackle box making him UNRESTRICTED – he then begins a new motion and remains inside the tackle box

  20. Restricted Players Actions RESTRICTED PLAYERS: Cannot block low against an opponent away from his adjacent sideline. BJ FJ SJ U 40 LJ HL TE C G T G T S F QB RB RB R Block by the RB is illegal as it is not toward his adjacent sideline.

  22. Restricted Players Actions RESTRICTED PLAYERS: Cannot block low against an opponent away from his adjacent sideline. BJ FJ SJ U 40 LJ HL TE C G T G T S F QB RB RB R Block by the RB is ILLEGAL as it is not toward his adjacent sideline

NOTE- This is based on 9-1-6-a-3 A restricted player may not block below the waist against any opponent who is inside the tackle box.
