  2. Chapter 7 is considered an interlude where we return to heaven where God is sealing for himself 144,000 from the nation of Israel and where a multitude of martyred believers are worshipping God. It is significant to note that the connection between the activities in heaven and the activities upon earth. On earth believers are being martyred, yet in heaven they are immediately brought before the throne to worship and be comforted. In heaven God is sealing 144,000 Jews and upon the earth these sealed ones are experiencing fruitful and protected ministry. Make no mistake; the activities of heaven orchestrate the realities upon this earth. As Isaiah said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is My footstool.’”

The Protected Remnant:The 144,000 • Revelation 7:1-2 • 1 After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree.2 Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, • Their Identity: • Believing Jews • Their Protection: • Delivered by God from the supernatural judgments of God and (I believe) from the anti-christ • Their Purpose: • To represents God’s holiness upon earth and (I believe) evangelize the world

The Protected Remnant:The 144,000 • Revelation 7:3-4 • 3 saying, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed: • Their Identity: • Believing Jews • Their Protection: • Delivered by God from the supernatural judgments of God and (I believe) from the anti-christ • Their Purpose: • To represents God’s holiness upon earth and (I believe) evangelize the world

  5. The Persecuted Multitude:from every nation, tribe, people and language • Their Identity: • Those saved DURING the tribulation period • Their Protection: • Delivered to God upon their martyrdom (Rev. 6:9-11) • Their Purpose: • To bring God glory in their martyrdom

The Present Church:1 body both Jews & Gentiles • Our Identity: • One body in Christ (1 Cor. 12:12-14) • A New Creation In Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17, 20) • Ambassadors of Christ (2 Cor. 5:20) • Righteousness of Christ (2 Cor. 5:21) • Our Protection: • Victory over evil (Mt. 16:18) • Perseverance through trials and martyrdom (Rev. 2:8-11) • Deliverance from God’s wrath (1 Thess. 5:9-10) • Our Purpose: • Make Disciples (Mt. 28:19-20)

Revelation 7:9-10 • “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’”
