This action plan outlines the project to build an electric motor for physics students at Pioneer Charter School of Science. The main objective is to engage students in hands-on learning by utilizing the Engineering Design Process (EDP). The project includes physical construction, a lab notebook, a report, and a reflection paper. Evaluations focus on understanding electromagnetic fields, a challenging concept for students. Deliverables for teachers include a lesson sequence aligned with standards, pacing guides, materials, lab sheets, graphic organizers, and rubrics to support student learning.

Building an Electric Motor James Anderson PIONEER CHARTER SCHOOL OF SCIENCE ACTION PLAN & IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE STUDENT DELIVERABLES GOAL/OBJECTIVE To build an Electric Motor for my Physics students that will utilize the Engineering Design Process (EDP). • Project COMPONENTS • Physical Build • Lab/Engineering Notebook • Report • Reflection Paper Project EVALUATION For this project I evaluated the educational merits of developing an Electric Motor design unit for teaching electromagnetic fields. Electromagnetic fields is a difficult abstract concept for many of my students. For example, understanding that forces without contact is confusing. By implementing this unit, the learning goals of electromagnetic fields will easier to achieve TEACHER DELIVERABLES 1. Lesson sequence which introduces physics concepts aligned with State Standards 2. Pacing Guide 3. Materials 4. Labsheets and Graphic Organizers for students 5. Multiple rubrics to guide students towards exemplary learning and performance
