The integrated faculty • The two translation departments are now an integrated part of the faculty of Arts ; this gives new life to educational programmes and research lines • Cf. situation of translation and interpreting abroad (part of the university) • Asset: clustering and strengthening of research; • A large number of new affiliated researchers and PhD students

International Doctoral Summer School (1989-) • Most important international network of researchers: • “Cetra has become a mainstream pathway to Translation Studies for several hundred young scholars, and the links that arose between CETRA alumni, between them and their instructors (…) probably had a major role in giving cohesion to the TS community (…). [It] may thus have contributed to TS far more than any ‘impact indicator’ such as citation counts can account for” (Gile 2004:8).
