After completion of the course, students should be able to: - describe the role of management control in organizations. - use different theories, models and concepts which are fundamental in the management of organizations. - analyze and discuss the limititations and shortcomings of the traditional means of management control

  7. Teaching- Cases studiesasthe pedagogical core Cases emphasise actual and relevant management control practice. Cases not only require the student to analyze real business situations, but also give a feel for what actually happens in companies. Cases are not necessarily intended to illustrate either correct or incorrect management, in many cases there are no right answers, just better or prefered ones. The educational value of the cases comes from the practice the students receive in analysing management problems and in discussing and defending his or her analysis before the class.

  8. Each week… We will focus on a specific management control problem. One lecture and two case seminars with two cases each. The cases will be analysed by case groups and each group is expected to be able to present and discuss their analysis at each seminar. The groups shall also hand in a short report (max. one page) with the case problem, analysis and suggested solution for every case at all the seminars.
