Tribe Traditions They Worshiped nature and the one who made earth. They got married in fall without a big ceremony. They worshiped wolf for good and coyote for bad.
What they Ate They ate big or small animals such as birds, reptiles like lizards, fish, and even insects. GROSS!!! They also ate wild seeds roots. Pinion pine is a important food to Paiute Indians
Paiutes had 2nd most land in Utah. They also lived in California, Arizona, and Nevada. The lived inside of cone shape house call wikiups. I thought they were called Tee Pees. Where they lived
How they dressed Theydressed with grass, bark, animal skins, and furs. In winter everyone wears a shirt and blanket for pants strange. In summer kids wear nothing but men wear breech clothes. Not sure what women wear.
FAMOUS PEOPLE • J.K. Hilleris is 1 famous Indian • Mo-awi-uk that is one hard name to pronouns • Moak-shin-ow-av-a I like how this name is writen
CONTRIBUTIONS • They gave us a county called Piute County. • They gave us Paiute Trail to walk on. • Gave us wikiups or something called board rooms
HOW BIG WAS THE TRIBE The Paiute tribe lived in groups 15-30. I think for moving a lot this is a reasonable size. But 30 people that is too much for moving a lot to follow food like running bison I would hate moving that much.
EXTRA INFORMATION Paiutes and Utes were friends until Utes got horses and started to raid the Paiute Indians.
QUIZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT ARE 2 OF THE 3 TRIBE TRADITIONS. WHAT TRIBE WAS FRIENDS WITH PAIUTES. WHO RAIDED THE PAIUTES AND WHY.
BIBLIOGRAPHY I used a website called utahhistoryforkids this was 1 useful source I liked history for kids too. I used The Utah Adventure very little though.
