ONS Foundation Small Research Grants • If you or a colleague has an idea for a research project and needs the funds to get it off the ground, apply by October 1, 2010, for an ONS Foundation small research grant. • ONS Foundation small research grants are available to nurses in all settings and at all practice levels. These $10,000 awards help nurses to answer a clinical question that has no research evidence base. • Start your program of research with small research grant funding. • Conduct a pilot or feasibility study. • Scientifically explore an innovative approach to patient problems and nursing interventions. • Learn how to conduct research with an experienced investigator.

Certification Renewal Deadlines 2010 candidates who will be renewing by Option 1 (Practice hours + Oncology Nursing Certification Points Renewal Option, or ONC-PRO) October 15, 2010 – The last date to submit your renewal application and ONC-PRO Logs for 2010 renewal. 2011 candidates October 20, 2010 – Application deadline for February 2011 OCN®, CBCN®, CPHON® Tests (online registration starts late Sept.)

Community Outreach The Bucks-Montgomery Counties Chapter of ONS Donated funds for two scholarships, for a women diagnosed with breast cancer, to attend this years Breast Cancer Coalition Annual Conference on October 13, 2010. Conference will be held @ the Harrisburg Hilton Chapter has requested one scholarship to be designated to a women from Bucks County and one to be designated to a women Montgomery County.  Scholarship application deadline is Sept 30th. Applications available @ tonight's meeting or from the PA Breast Coalition website @ http://www.pabreastcancer.org/conf.html
