Quick fixes • Be bold with colour but stick to corporate colours/single colour palette • Be big • Use boxes • Add an extra slide for notes/handouts • Make a ‘show’ deck and a ‘handout’ deck so you aren’t presenting with too many words on the screen • Sharing slide decks: If the person receiving the deck does not have your specific font, the computer will default the font to something else. Your beautiful slides may look awful when laid out in Arial or Calibri. Choose standard fonts or PDF your slides to retain the formatting.

Places to get slides • If you have the option to not use your corporate deck (or you don’t have one) • then choose a great template • Microsoft Office website – not so good • creativemarket.com – sign up to their mailing list and get emailed about their weekly free items. They have slide decks for PPT and Keynote and sometimes Google Slides every other month or so. Or you can buy direct from the site if you see one that you like • Or just look on Creative Market for slide inspiration and edit your own slides!
