  6. Stockings • Father and Mother fill Christmas stockings with small gifts for children.

  7. Bell • Bells are golden and shining.

  8. Fireplace • Christmas stockings are hung by the fireplace.

  9. Santa Claus • He climbs down the chimneys while kids are sleeping and gives away gifts. • He says, “Ho Ho Ho.”

  10. Cookies • On Christmas Eve, kids leave cookies and milk or hot chocolate for Santa Claus.

  11. Reindeer • Nine reindeer pull Santa's sleigh on Christmas Eve. • Santa’s most famous reindeer is Rudolph. • Rudolph has a red nose.

  20. The Origin of Santa Claus There was a father. He had three daughters. It came the time for the daughters to marry. But the father was poor, he had not enough money to host a wedding.

  21. One night the daughters cleaned the house. They hung their stockings in front of the fireplace to dry. An old man, Nicholas, knew their difficulties. He wanted to help them. He saw the stockings.

  22. He took a small bag of gold and threw it down to the chimney. The gold landed in the stockings. The next morning, the daughters were so happy to see the gold in the stockings.

  23. They told their father this good news. The father thought that it was a present from God. Nicholas saw that. He was so happy, too.

  24. Therefore, Nicholas decided that he would send presents to all the good children in the world, and put presents in their stockings.

  25. Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer You know Dasher and Dancer And Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid And Donner and Blitzen. But do you recall The most famous reindeer of all?

  26. Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer Had a very shiny nose And if you ever saw it You would even say it glows All of the other reindeer Used to laugh and call him names They never let poor Rudolph Join in any reindeer games

  27. Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say Rudolph with your nose so bright Won't you guide my sleigh tonight? Then all the reindeer loved him And they shouted out with glee "Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer You'll go down in history!"
