  2. Mentorship Programme Vision • MEF recognition of more junior colleagues seeking educational guidance • 1:1 mentoring relationship • guidance, discussion & support • goal-setting in educational activities • Complement the role of Ed. Supervisors

  3. Typical Structure • Informal face-to-face meetings • E-mail & telephone support • Flexible around work commitments • Exchange of ideas

  4. Mentorship Programme • Now been ‘live’ for ~ 2 years • 12 mentees enrolled, 9 current • 9 MEF mentors active across Wessex • More mentors keen to get involved

  5. Benefits For Mentee • Identification of • new opportunities to get involved in education & training • teaching courses • Improved confidence, e.g. • to join Tomorrow’s Teachers faculty • to get involved with educational research

  6. Benefits For Mentor • Specific training in mentorship • two ½ days training • Experience in • supervising a more junior colleague • Sharing knowledge • discussing experiences with other mentors • educational experiences of mentee
