In Germany, May assisted in the architectural design of Frankfort am Main during the Weimar period. • In 1930, he then designed 20 cities in 3 years for the Soviet Union under Stalin’s rule, one of which included Magnitogorsk. • Because he was a stateless person due to his travels, when the Nazi’s took over he had to flee to Africa for a few years.
