National Landscape Ever-changing Fiscal Environment Television Demands (Time, Resources, Facilities) NCAA Certification 2010 process is a LIVE process - weave Uncertainty in NCAA Legislative Processes (CEO Driven) NCAA Legislative Changes New Technologies in Marketplace Local Landscape Emerging Women’s Track Program Emerging Sports Discussions keep changing (Ex: Sand VB) Facility Issues (Debt Services, Repair, Maintenance, Sustainability) New Technologies in Marketplace Understaffing issues Repeated “Systems” failures Static Operating Budgets (vs Zero Based Budget process) Fickle/Static Fanbase (sometimes hostile) Fundraising Plateau

Process • Listen and cull all sports programs’ priorities (Spring 2012) • Develop overall SWOT (Summer 2012) • Announce Strategic Priorities (Fall 2012) • Implementation begins immediately w items that cost nothing or issues that can be addressed by a reduction elsewhere • Functional Until Sub Plans due March 30, 2013 • Restructure all Functional Organizational Meetings to include Strategic Planning Touch in each w Exec Staff as a cornerstone
