  2. The goal of the department is to prepare dentists who are proficient in providing primary and comprehensive, preventive and therapeutic care for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special needs.

  3. Building “A-No-Fear” practice, introducing children to a lifetime of positive dental care. The department of paediatrics of Rangpur dental College was founded in 2000 and it started with the purpose of offering undergraduate study in paediatric dentistry. At the initial stage it has been involved in performing patients care, teaching and research. • The department is situated on the 2nd floor of the dentistry building of the RangpurDental College. The activities of the department are operated by a skilled group of teachers and medical officers. The head of department is Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rashid, BDS (Dhaka), DDPH, RCS (England). All activities are conducted under his plethora of knowledge and supervision. • Pediatric department provides several facilities including a modern pediatric clinic, clinical laboratory reception and waiting area with excellent X-ray facilities.

Clinical Education The clinical portion of the students takes place in the Department of Pediatrics of Rangpur Dental College & Hospital The clinical curriculum includes: • Patient management – pharmacologic and non pharmacologic • Preventive dentistry and oral health education • Comprehensive restorative and prosthetic care • Oral facial trauma – evaluation, diagnosis and treatment • Periodontal diseases – diagnosis, treatment and referral • Pulp therapy for primary and young permanent teeth • Management and care of special needs patient • Dental emergencies • Preventive and interceptive orthodontics and space maintenance

  5. Our educational mission is to provide our pre-doctoral students with the necessary knowledge and skills to practice in an ethical, patient-centered, evidence- based manner in the field of pediatric dentistry.
