Enhancing Digital Literacy through Web Development and Data Presentation

This project highlights the journey of learning to make information accessible globally using HTML and web pages. I created a personal website showcasing our collective work. Key skills acquired include computational thinking, data analysis, and visualization using MS Excel, and desktop publishing with MS Word. Additionally, I learned to develop interactive web pages using JavaScript, as well as creating presentations with MS PowerPoint. This comprehensive skill set empowers effective data presentation and enhances problem-solving capabilities.

CSE 3 by Julianna Struthers CSE 3by Julianna Struthers • Making Information Available to the World with HTML and Web Pages • Created a personal webpage with all of our work • http://acsweb.ucsd.edu/~jastruth/ Computational Thinking • Becoming Skilled at Information Technology • Algorithms and Digitizing Information • Data and Information Analysis and Presentation • Problem Solving • Desktop Publishing with MS Word • Learned to create MS Word documents to present data. • Learned how to convert these documents to PDF files. • Data Analysis and Visualization with MS Excel • Created several spreadsheets, usually for financial reasons ie a budget • Made graphs based on the data from the spreadsheets • Visual Programming with Alice • Learned how to create short movies in the program Alice • Used javascript such as functions and loops • Dynamic Webpage Programming with Javascript • Learned how to use Javascript with HTML to make interactive pages • Programmed buttons and alerts • Presentation of Information with MS PowerPoint • Created a stock portfolio with Excel • Made several charts and graphs • Presented them in a powerpoint
