  3. CARO BAROJA • Julio Caro Baroja(Madrid, 13 de noviembre de 1914 – Vera de Bidasoa (Navarra), 18 de agosto de 1995) fue un antropólogo, historiador, lingüista, folklorista y ensayista español, sobrino del escritor Pío Baroja y del pintor y escritor Ricardo Baroja.

  5.  Premio Príncipe de Víana de la Cultura 1995 fue recibido por Pío Caro Baroja. Julio Caro permanece en su casa palacio Itzea, de la localidad navarra de Vera de Bidasoa. El acta del Consejo Navarro de Cultura, que recoge los motivos del galardón, destaca su faceta de etnólogo, ciencia cuya construcción en España le debe buena parte de su actual desarrollo. PREMIOS
