  2. Countée Cullen Biography Born: May 30, 1903, Louisville, Kentucky Died: January 9, 1946 Education: New York University, Harvard University Life: -Cullen was very secretive about his life. His real mother did not contact him until he became famous in the 1920s. -Raised in a Methodist household. He attended De Witt Clinton High School in New York and began writing poetry at the age of fourteen.
