As on 31st March 2021, the total installed capacity by the power distribution companies in India is 383.37 GW. Delhi being the capital city and the urban region has high load density and has consistently increased year by year. Here is a list of the top 5 power transmission and distribution companies in Delhi. 1.Tata Power DDL Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL), founded in 2001, was formerly known as North Delhi Power Limited (NDPL). The National Capital Territory of Delhi joined hands with The Tata Power Company Limited to form a joint venture. Tata Power holds a majority stake of 51% in this venture. It currently provides electric power supply to 7 million customers in the North and Northwest parts of New Delhi and has a 1.60 million registered consumer base. It is the only power distribution company to get the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification and the only Indian utility with SA8000 certification.
