  3. Tin, tain, tent all mean to hold physically. • Maintain, Contain, Content…

  4. But then you can relate it to the base “man”, which means hand—“I wanna hold your hand...”

  5. Habit... habitat… to hold as a custom, a place you hold as your home or a tendency you hold. Hibernate... to hold a position of rest for a long period time

  6. ... possess or potent, to maintain or holdpower in a position.

  7. there is a variety of ways you can hold things---physically, authoritatively, emotionally, mentally… to have a place in someone’s heart, to hold a position of power, to physically hold an object. The personal significance of ways of holding can go on within a never-ending spectrum.

  8. You can even relate the bases that are defined as to “believe”, such as “Cred-” to hold a belief religiously, politically, or even just an informal opinion about a concept and so on.

  9. Holding a belief can even relate to the bases of “fid” and “fidel”—faith.

  10. The concept of holding can differ in many different ways, thus a variety of bases were created to identify with each different way one can hold something
