  2. What is the FSSAI Registration? FSSAI has been implemented under the food safety and standard act, 2006 formed in the Indian National Constitution as a ruling body for laying down science-based standards for articles of food regulating, manufacturing, processing, distributing sales and import of food to ensure that the food supplied to the customers is safe for human consumption. It also helps to frame the regulations to lay down guidelines and standards by specifying an appropriate system of imposing various standards. It helps in providing technical support and scientific advice to the central & state government for introducing the policies & rules in an area that have a direct or indirect bearing of food safety and nutrition. Collect all the data regarding food safety, food consumption, contaminants in food products, Identification of risks. It also creates information that helps the public, consumers to be aware of the rapid, reliable & Objective information about food safety. It helps to develop international food standards.

  3. Food safety and standard authority is the main regulatory authority for all businesses related to food in India. FSSAI Registration is necessary for starting any food business. All the traders, manufacturers and restaurants involved in the business must get a 14 digit FSSAI Registration Number. As per the government rules and regulations, FSSAI online registration is mandatory for all businesses related to food. The food safety and standard authority of India have its head office in Delhi. This act also aims to establish a single point of reference for all food safety and standard matter by converting Multi department control to a single line command. There are mainly 3 types FSSAI license Central license, state license and the third one FSSAI registration are for petty food retailers.

  4. Eligibility for FSSAI Registration FSSAI Registration is a basic license that is required by all FBO involved in small scale business of food. 1. Any FBO with an annual turnover must not exceed Rs. 20 lakhs 2. Any manufacturers who sell food by himself. 3. Small retailers dealing in food products. 4. Any seller who is a temporary food stallholder. 5. Anyone who distributes food in any social or religious gathering except the caterer. 6. Small scale industries dealing in the food business.

  5. Procedure for FSSAI registration FSSAI registration is initiated by filling Form A and submitting it to the food and safety department. 2. This application may be accepted or rejected by the food and safety department within 7 days from the application date and the reason would be intimated to the applicant in writing. 3. If the application is accepted then the food and safety department will grant the registration certificate with the registration number and photograph of the applicant. 4. FBO should prominently display the registration certificate at the business place and during the business hours.

Name and list of machinery and equipment with the installed capacity. 4. List of the category of food to be manufactured 5. Authority letter for manufacturer giving a responsible person name or address 6. Source of raw material 7. PA/NOC document issued by FSSAI

NOC from the local body or municipality. Documents for obtaining State License 1. Form B completed and signed 2. List of partners/ Directors with address, contact details, and photo id proof

Authority letter for manufacturer giving a responsible person name or address 6. Possession of premises proof 7. Copy of License and NOC from the Manufacturer 8. Food safety management system plan and certificate 9. Copy of certificate that is obtained under the Multistate coop Act 2002/ Coop Act 1861 The validity of the FSSAI license certificate FSSAI license is valid for 1-5 years as per the registration by the food entrepreneurs. In case of expiry of the FSSAI license, an applicant is required to file the FSSAI renewal application at least 30 days before the expiry
