Sets his/her own objectives with his/her supervisor and shares with employee Consider supervisor’s objectives in developing performance objectives & then weight by priority Create Employee Development Plan based on mutually agreed upon competency assessment Complete competency assessment on self Verify Employee Development Plan is relevant, objectives are SMART & weighted appropriately Ensure employee’s objectives are SMART & consistent with supervisor’s objectives & weighted appropriately Review competency assessment done by employee & share feedback Meet to discuss finalized Performance Plan (Phase 1) Phase I: Performance Planning Process Supervisor Employee Discussion back and forth via E-mail, in person, or on the phone Supervisor Supervisor & Employee
