  1. Hi, everyone! Here’s what you missed at the first drama club meeting if you could not attend. We have multiple drama club events throughout the year, including lock-in, a halloween event, camping, field day, and more! To be in drama club, you in no way have to be in a theatre class/affiliated with theatre; it is PURELY social. Come in, and have fun! To join, you must pay a due of $15. On the other hand, there is what is called “Thespian society” which is strictly for thespians. To become a thespian, you must earn 20 thespian points. You can earn points in multiple ways; working hours for a crew, being cast in a show, ushering a show, volunteering for a summer camp, and other ways. If you earn your 20 points, at the end of the year banquet you will be inducted into the Thespian society. A great opportunity to earn points; JOIN A CREW FOR BEAUTY AND THE BEAST! Whether you were cast or not, come work on the technical elements for the show, you will learn a lot, trust me. Mr. Chuter and Mrs. Washenfelder have been challenged to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge! At lock-in we will be filling up two trashcans with ice and water for them, and then nominating the directors at Atascocita High School. To add a gallon of water to the trashcans, bring $5. For a bag of ice, $10! All proceeds will be donated to the ALS Association. What you need to know about Lock-In: It is this Friday, August 29th from 8 pm-6 am. Please sign up here on the website! Bring whatever food you were assigned, a blanket or pillow if you want, a Nerf gun (only if you have one!) and your dues!!! DO NOT FORGET YOUR DUES ($15). You will NOT be allowed inside without it. You only have to pay dues once. They will pay for every event for the whole year! Also, wear clothing you can easily move around in, and closed toed shoes. On the slideshow, option B was the t-shirt we voted on! Lanyards are $7. Please see Sofia Pina if you are interested in buying one. Send Amanda any pictures you take! We will be having photo competitions throughout the year, and winners will receive prizes and have their winning picture posted on social media. Also; please read the constitution online, you will be held responsible for it. Please direct your attention to article II, section 5; this is something we take very seriously. In drama club, we are all friendly to each other no matter what, and any negative attack on another person will not be tolerated.
