  3. STAKEHOLDER RESPONSIBILITIES • Operationalize a limited number of Standards • Prioritize standards for top data needs • Terminology • The “standard” record and data model • Make standards more usable

  4. STAKEHOLDER RESPONSIBILITIES • Accelerate the Timing • Shorten the adoption lifecycle • Build small ships that sail in the right direction • Have clear interim benchmarks • Don’t let “Perfect” beat “Good” or “Good Enough” • Invest for long-term commitment

  5. STAKEHOLDER RESPONSIBILITIES • Reduce the Cost, Increase the Value • Licensing, Development, Configuration, Implementation, Integration, Maintenance • Allow users to maintain productivity, especially for the smaller stakeholders & physician offices • Help create long-term economic benefit to the user base

  6. STAKEHOLDER RESPONSIBILITIES • Help Define System Requirements • Understand, define, and share business processes in healthcare, before developing systems. • Strengthen the user interfaces for clinical stakeholders, ease the burden of data entry. • Make systems easy for consumers to use.

  7. STAKEHOLDER PRIORITIES • Help drive leadership processes through: • Collaboration • Technical definition of requirements • Incremental process change among the user base • Setting policy • Open communication

  8. STAKEHOLDER PRIORITIES • Use effective, streamlined development & testing processes. • Involve diverse stakeholders • Define a collaborative, public testing framework

  9. STAKEHOLDER PRIORITIES • Clarify the funding mechanisms • Incentives & payback • Affordability • Business value • Feasibility for rollout
