Course Information • Book – Communication systems , S.Haykin, PH International edition, 4th • Weekly program and Lecture Slides will be posted for each week on the website: http://electronics.ege.edu.tr. • Additional announcements, assignments etc. will be also posted there. • Your answers to assignments and homework should be posted there, too.

  3. Course Information • To pass the class you need, besides good grades, obligatory lecture attendance of min 75 percent of the lectures (for 1 semester – 2 weeks). • Labs will be carried every week • Lab quiz • Lab report • (details after the class from responsible assistant – Alper Akkas)

  4. Projects • Project – subjects, directions and requirements will be finalized the 6th week: • Proposal – March 5 • Approval + corrections – March 12 • MILESTONE 1 – April 2 • Projects are done on a specific topic, 2-3 students in a group • Overview • Theoretical background/related scientific work • Evaluation (including MATLAB, SIMULINK, etc. ) NOTE: It is very easy to copy and paste, but when it is YOUR PROJECT,.do not be tempted there are people who wrote BETTER THAN YO • NO PLAGIARISMACCEPTED!!! U

  5. Grading • Grading • Labs – 40% • Project – 30 % (includes homework and other written assignments) (evaluated based on timeliness, presentation, proper structure, MATLAB/SIMULINK code working, originality of the project) • Midterm – 30% • Collectively labs, quizzes and project make up the so-called in-term grade. It will represent 60% of the passing grade. • Final Exam – 40 % of the passing grade

  6. Special Notes Delayed submission of lab reports, project, assignments and homework will suffer punishment of 50 % reduction in grades.
