What has driven economic growth development? • Infrastructure development (airport, also orbital Motorway system, trams, rail improvements) • Higher education/R&D (University ‘merger’, health-related R&D) • Big ticket items, e,g. sport and media (Commonwealth games, BBC relocation) • City centre bomb and retail improvements • Commercial development, improved visitor/user facilities in city centre
