Discussing the alignment of SO terms in the RNAO database for the RNAO community. Addressing the requirements and considerations for adding terms from SO to RNAO, including the necessary steps for implementation and community notification. Potential expansion to include DNA annotation. Terms to be added include "Collection_of_regions," "Overlapping_collection_of_regions," and "Non_overlapping_collection_of_regions."

SO and RNAO swap meet ROC meeting Madison May 2009
SO terms that belong in RNAO Please accept the following SO terms…
Check for usage • Use SO wiki to find if terms are used in annotation of model organism sequence.
Requirements • RNAO - accessible to SO community • The terms to be in RNAO • SO to point to the IDs of the moved terms in RNAO • Notice to be given to the developer community about the move - Especially the NLP community.
Considerations • Some of the structural terms can be applied to DNA. • Will RNAO be available to those wishing to annotate structural features of DNA, should the need arise?
Terms to be added to SO • At the January Cambridge meeting, the following terms were requested by RNAO • Collection_of_regions • Overlapping_collection_of_regions • Non_overlapping_collection_of_regions
Requirements • To be added as is_a children of sequence_collection
