  2. OpeningTime • Arrive before lockout • Ready materials (pen, paper, text) • Put non-instructional items AWAY. • Read boards (HW, announcements, agenda, objective) and follow written instructions (opener)

  3. Direct Instruction • Listen • Think • Ask Questions when curious or confused • 1 speaker at a time-yield • No Multitasking!

  4. Read Together • Listen • Think • Ask Questions • 1 speaker at a time-yield! • No Multitasking!

  5. Individual Silent Time • Read, write, or think SILENTLY. • Raise hand for anything else • Outside work allowed AFTER assignment is completed.

  6. Discussion • Listening? • Eyes on speaker or notes • Speaking? (remember filter!) • Yield! • Address comments of speaker before you. (agree, disagree, clarify) • Tell WHY and give REASONS • No aggression when disagreeing

  7. Work Time • Focus FULLY on the product • Watch your time • Ask a neighbor before coming to teacher desk. • MAKE IT nicer- enough to share • Outside work/Reading allowed when assignment is complete

  8. Closing Time • Turn in work when directed • Clean desk area- • Book under desk • Borrowed supplies returned • Trash thrown away • Stay at desk for closing activities and bell . CMS , RRHS and Class rules are in effect every minute

  9. Consequences: • Rule Reminder • Change or intervention (move seat or other, counselor, conference, detention, etc.) • Home Contact • Office referral Keep the goal in mind…
