Year 1's Medieval Adventure: Jousting, Dance, and Book Day Celebration

Year 1 had an incredible World Book Day celebrating a medieval theme! Parents were invited to witness our hard work, including a lively jousting tournament and medieval dance performances. Dressed in costumes, we enjoyed using our Book Day vouchers at Waterstones Bookshop. A special thanks to Mr. Johnson for sharing his knowledge about medieval artifacts, including chain mail! We practiced skills like coordination and agility, and enjoyed stories like "Winnie the Witch." Our favorite moments included jousting with scooters and clapping during our performances!

  1. Year 1 Theme Day Classroom Exploration Jousting Tournament Medieval Dance Waterstones Visit for World Book Day Visit by Medieval Expert Year 1 had an amazing Theme & World Book Day. We invited parents in to see our work and show our dance and jousting tournament. We dressed up and enjoyed spending our Book Day vouchers at Waterstones Bookshop. Thank you to Mr Johnson for coming in and teaching us about medieval objects.

  9. My Favourite bit!! I loved jousting with the scooter. I liked moving into the middle and clapping. I liked the competition. I liked the story of Winnie the Witch. I liked looking at the jugs.
