Overview • TG participants have been preparing for transition of TG services and users to the XD awardee(s) • many of these we feel we have well in hand • many operational activities • transition of databases, POPS system, security services, etc. • user transition issues • migrating applications • Some issues we would like to discuss with SAB for input • communication with the user community • letter to user community an overall migration strategy • data archives • where is data today and where will it need to be after March 2010 • longer term issue of persistent archive

Letter to Users • Objectives: • Communication: • notification of impending changes • communication of anticipated changes and plans TeraGrid has to facilitate the transition process • Maintain calm: • don’t spook the user community, but keep them informed • provide communication mechanisms for them • provide centralized location for information regarding the transition
