  1. The Never Ending Adventures of Space By : Drew Smith

  2. The Solar System • Our Solar System is made up of 8 Planets. • Earth is the only planet with life on it from our information from rovers, satellites, and space exploration. • All of the 8 planets revolve around the sun.

  3. The Inner Planets Our Solar System is grouped into two sections the inner planets and the outer planets. The inner planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, And Mars. Mercury is the closest planet in the Solar System to the Sun. Venus also an Inner planet close to the size of Earth. Earth is the only planet that we know about with a living thing on the planet. Mars is known as the Red Planet, and is being explored by rovers for any sign of life.

  4. Outer Planets • The second group is classified as the outer planets. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and last but not least Neptune. • Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. It has a massive storm on it and has for many, many years. • Saturn is one of two planets with rings around the planet. Galileo was the first man to discover Saturn threw a telescope. • Uranus is the seventh planet in our Solar System, and is blue because there is blue Methane Gas in the Solar System. • Neptune the last planet in the Solar System at 4.5 billion Km. from the sun.

  5. Earths surface has many different features Earth’s Surface

  6. Earth’s Surface #2 • Earth’s Surface has many different features. • Earth’s Surface is covered mostly by water. Earth is 70% water 30% land. • 96.5% of that 70% is water from the Oceans. • Earth’s surface is the only place a living animal, or creature, or human could live . • On Earth’s surface there are 7 continents

  7. Mars’ Surface • Mars surface is covered by sand and rock. • Mars surface is being explored by a rover named curiosity, and has been explored by many other rovers • On the surface of mars there is a mountain so big it would take 3 of Mt. Everest to get to the top. It is called Olympus Mons. • Olympus Mons is a whopping 88,600 ft. • Mars has no continents, or any water. • EX: no Rivers, Lakes, Oceans, Ponds, Streams

  8. Mars’ Surface #2 Mt. Olympus Mons

  9. Curiosity the Great Curiosity is one of the many rovers we have sent to Mars. As of August Curiosity as been on Mars for a year and has also already achieved what it went to do. Curiosity has provided more than 190 gigabytes of information. It has also provided more than 36,700 full images. Curiosity has traveled 764 yd. in the past month. It is on its way to the base of Mt. Sharp.

  10. How are Mars and Earth alike • Mars • One of the inner Planets • Both Earth and Mars have Polar Ice Caps, Stream Beds, Mountains, and Valleys. • Earth • Also one of the inner planets • Earth and Mars are the only two planets that scientists think have ever had water .

  11. How are Mars and Earth Different • Mars • Mars is much smaller than Earth, its diameter is 6,792 Km. • Making Mars only 53% of Earth. • There is no water on Mars. • Earth • Has Human life on the Planet • Is almost two of Mars. • Has Continents unlike the planet of Mars.

  12. Conclusion • I hope you had a lot of fun learning about space. • I learned things I did not know before. • Thanks for watching
