Sign Post Project: Measuring Distances and Units for School Navigation

  2. Library We want to put up some sign posts around school to help the new Year 7’s 0.6km

  3. We want to find out the following distances

  4. Distances within the school What equipment will we need? What units will these measurements be in?

  5. Distances beyond the school What equipment will we need? Where might we find this information? What units will these measurements be in?

  6. Converting measures ÷1000 km m x1000 ÷ 1.6 miles km x 1.6

  7. Design your signposts Give your measurement in what you think is the most appropriate unit. WRITE ON THE BACK OF EACH WHERE YOU MEASURED FROM SO WE KNOW WHERE THE SIGN POST NEEDS TO GO!
