  2. CAMPAIGN ON AIDS AWARENESS

INTRODUCTION • Mukti Foundation is year a 12 year old NGO working towards various social action projects. • Over the years Mukti Foundation has invested a lot in creating massive awareness on HIV / AIDS through various Bollywood events, Road shows In Campus activities and other youth campaigns which had received a huge response both by the public and all form of media. • This year too Mukti continues its efforts on creating awareness on this issue through an interactive campaign titled as “ I PLEDGE ”.

  4. I PLEDGE - Concept • “I PLEDGE” is public interactive campaign which aims at public participation towards the issue of HIV/AIDS. • The objective of this Campaign is to take a pledge from the public where by they are making a Promise to the society that they would contribute in their own small way to eradicate HIV from our city. • This is an on ground activity which will be organised at public places like Malls, multiplex, youth hangouts like Coffee Café Day, College Campus for a period of three days starting from 29thnov till 1stdecember 2009. During this Campaign we plan to target 3 lakhs individuals. • An I PLEDGE counter will be erected in the prominent malls of Mumbai wherein the pledges of the people would be collected and host of Awareness programs will be hosted. To achieve this task our volunteers will be stationed at these counter who will approach each and every individual in the mall and urge them to take part in the pledge campaign. People will chose one or more pledges of their preferences and put inside the pledge boxes. Mukti aims to collect three lacs plus written pledges during the entire period of activity.

PLEDGE THAT I WILL PRACTICE SAFE SEX Using (Moods) Condoms. • I ……. PLEDGE TO SPREAD AWARENESS TO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY • I ……. PLEDGE THAT I WILL TAKE A HIV TEST • I ……. PLEDGE THAT I WONT HAVE SEX WITH COMMERCIAL SEX WORKER. • I ……. PLEDGE THAT I WILL ONLY USE NEW SYRINGES

  6. Event Details • Campaign Period – 3 days starting from 29th Nov till 1st Dec 2009 • Ground Activity Location – Major Malls of Mumbai like Oberoi Mall, Infinity Mall, Phoenix Mills, Inorbit Mall, Fun Republic, College Campus, Rotary clubs, etc. • Timing : 11 am to 8 pm

RED RIBBON BAY • A special publicity campaign will be organised at the JuhuChowpatty which is hub of the suburbs. • A Giant red ribbon structure admeasuring 40 feet x 20 feet would be erected on the shore of the beach • This will be a 3 day campaign from 30thnov till 2nddec, this is an extension of Mukti’s I PLEDGE campaign. • Mukti’s volunteers would conduct various HIV awareness programmes at the beach during the 3 day campaign. • This event will be covered by the electronic & print media.
