  7. How a bank works People deposit savings in banks and receive interest Banks loan money to businesses and receive interest. Businesses use loans o make products for sale and to pay workers’ wages

  10. Beginnings of Political Parties • Const. does not mention parties • Washington opposed them • These early squabbles created allies and enemies • Two camps emerge • Federalist • Republican (Anti-Federalist)

Political Parties • In early 1790’s French people had launched their own revolution • Major differences between Jefferson and Hamilton led to political parties. • Bloody-The ruling group executed thousands of people including the king and queen • Americans stopped supporting France • Washington stayed NEUTRAL!!

  12. Farwell Address • No political parties • Advice on foreign Policy: relationships with the governments of other nations. • Washington advised to stay NEUTRAL
