  8. Habitat of Most Carnivorous Plants • Poor soil • Wet & Humid • Sunlight • Swampy wetlands

  9. Evolution • The environment does not provide enough of the nutrients that plants need. • True carnivorous plants have probably evolved at least 10 times.

  10. Trapping mechanisms • (1) Pitcher plants trap prey in a rolledleaf that contains a pool ofdigestive enzymes. • (2) Flypaper traps use stickymucilage.
