Dive into the world of poetry with our final English assignment! Over the course of two days, you’ll explore various poetic forms from around the globe. Day One focuses on learning and selecting two forms, where you’ll craft rough drafts of each. These drafts will be graded as classwork. On Day Two, we’ll revise your drafts based on feedback and create a polished final draft of one poem. Add a personal touch with decorations, as these will be displayed next year. Get ready to showcase your creativity!

Poetic Forms From Around the World! Your last assignment in English this year!
Poetic Forms Project: Day One: • We’ll go over the forms and example poems. • Then you’ll choose which two forms you’d like to try. • Then you’ll write a rough draft of each one. Rough drafts are for a class work grade and are due at the end of class on the first day.
Day Two: Revision & Publishing • Ms. Rolfe will hand back your rough drafts with her feedback. • You’ll pick one of your two poems to hand in as a final draft. • You’ll revise the poem and then decorate it. Make a frame or just add pictures. Make it look fabulous! They’re going to be hung on the walls next year. • The final draft is one last quiz grade.
