Public safety alert in North Shore; center opens for flood evacuees North Shore Emergency Management (NSEM) has issued a public safety alert for North Vancouver and West Vancouver residents as swift-moving floodwaters continue to pose a significant threat across the region. The agency warns that even ankle-deep water can be dangerous and advises people to stay clear of fast-moving water, streams, creeks, rivers, and steep slopes.

  4. In response to the widespread flooding in North Vancouver and West Vancouver, NSEM has established a reception center for displaced residents at Mickey McDougall Recreation Centre, located at 240 E 23rd Street, North Vancouver. The center is open to assist those affected by the storm.
