Business Outreach Program • The Business Outreach Program’s mission is to help small businesses including, emerging, minority and women-owned businesses, achieve their potential while providing students with opportunities for community based-learning. • Annually Serving: • 60 locally owned small businesses located in the Portland (approximately) • 80% of clients are existing businesses • 72% of clients are Minority or Women-Owned businesses • Over 60% of clients are low income individuals (based on 50% or below median income of Portland area • 60 PSU students acting as student consultants serving up to 15 business clients • 2-4 PSU SBA student interns employed by BOP to serve clients

PSU Center for Entrepreneurship The School of Business at Portland State University is leading an initiative to develop a world-class capability in entrepreneurship that provides the curriculum, mentoring, information, and network links that innovators – researchers, students, members of the community – need to launch their ideas and create successful companies. PSU’s Entrepreneurship Center will: • Deepen the entrepreneurial mindset and capabilities of the region’s innovators through educational programs; • Increase deal flow by providing expert support for vetting ideas, choosing the most appropriate vehicle for commercialization and social innovation, developing creative business models, and launch mentoring; • Accelerate bringing ideas to fruition by providing innovators with a “one-stop-shop” for the resources and processes required to reach the market.
