  1. The Chardon High School shooting occurred on February 27, 2012, at Chardon High School in Chardon, Ohio, United States. At the time of the incident, it was the deadliest shooting in a public high school in the United States since 2005. Three students died within the two days following the incident. Two others were hospitalized: one of whom sustained several serious injuries requiring extensive rehabilitation, the other with a minor injury. A sixth student sustained a superficial wound.

  2. On October 2, 2006, a shooting occurred at the West Nickel Mines School, an Amish one-room schoolhouse in the Old Order Amish community of Nickel Mines, a village in Bart Township of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Gunman Charles Carl Roberts IV took hostages and shot ten girls (aged 6–13), killing five, before committing suicide in the schoolhouse. The emphasis on forgiveness and reconciliation in the response of the Amish community was widely discussed in the national media. The West Nickel Mines School was torn down, and a new one-room schoolhouse, the New Hope School, was built at another location.

  3. A former student who shot up an Oakland school burst in looking for a female administrator, but he opened fire when he ordered students to line up and they didn't cooperate, police said today.

  4. Finnish authorities arrested a man Friday after he fired six shots through a school classroom door and shot an office worker in the hand in two separate incidents, police said.
