  1. What makes for a good ending? Learning Goal: To write an effective ending to any narrative. Instructions: What is the best way to wrap up a paragraph, book, your own story? It isn’t just… that Flip to the end of your book, open your RWN to Notes, write the last sentence of your book; however long or short. Notes on Endings

  2. End with a “Wrap-up” of the entire story… • “Wrap-up”- tell the reader how everything falls into place.

  3. End with a Surprise… • Surprise- to reveal the unexpected character, action, behavior, etc. in your story.

  4. End with Reflection… • Reflection- looking back and providing insightful commentary about an event, action, character behavior, etc. in the story. Hum, very interesting.

  5. End by Circling Back to the beginning… Coming Full Circle- create a circular ending that is reflective of the story’s beginning.

  6. END WITH HUMOR • Humor- to laugh at a character, the action, or the behavior in your story.
