THE ART OF FASTPITCH Watch two current and former professional,NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP WINNING pitchers demonstrate, discuss and teach kids the art of fastpitch style softball pitching Friday, 9/16 at 7:30pm in the Cromwell Middle School gym … presented by the Central CT State University Blue Devils’ Varsity Softball Pitching Coach Staff in conjunction with Cromwell Little League 2008 NCAA national champion pitcher Katie Burkhart • Some of Katie’s other accomplishments: • Pitched for the Philadelphia Force in the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) league • 2009 United States National Team pitcher; team won a gold medal at the Japan Cup • 2008 NPF Player of the Year • #1 overall pick in the 2008 NPF league draft • Ranks seventh all-time in NCAA history in career strikeouts with 1,670 • 2008 NCAA Tournament Most Valuable Player • Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year in back-to-back seasons in 2007 and 2008 • All-American at Arizona State University, where she holds every major pitching record Former ASA national champion pitcher Brooke Franquet • Some of Brooke’s other accomplishments: • 23 years pitching experience in competitive softball • 2001 ASA Class A National Champion pitcher • 2-Time Women's ASA Class A All-American (2000-2001) • All East Regional Team (NCAA Division II, 1999) • 3-Time All-State Team Selection (New Jersey, high school level) • Brooke has helped pitchers at CCSU for the past two years, during which the team has tripled its number of games won since the arrival of Brooke and her husband, head coach Jeff Franquet Don’t miss the chance to learn from this RARE combination of athletic talent, knowledge and achievement!
