The demand for Voice over WAN applications is set to double over the next year, while mature applications are expected to stabilize. Videoconferencing is also experiencing some growth, with the UK leading in innovation. According to the IDC European WAN Manager Survey 2005, legacy networks are being phased out in favor of IPVPNs, with significant plans to discontinue Frame Relay, ATM, and X.25 usage. DSL has become the most popular access technology, offering numerous migration opportunities for organizations across Europe.
