11. Health Tourism As of the year 2011 in total 156.176 foreign patients treated in our country. Often they are treated in surgical branches.

15. The Aims of The Transcultural Nursing Lesson; -To teach the intercultural teaching models of disease and health, -To teach to discuss the situation of the integration of health education and cultural proficiency.

Content of Lesson (32 hours) -The culture, health and illness -The concept of culture, -The importance of culture in health and place, -World cultures, -Cultural health behaviors, -Transcultural health and nursing models, -Relatives of the sick and health care personnel from different cultures-relationship, -Global health issues, -National and international health policies, -The concept of Transcultural Nursing, education and intercultural approaches, -Intercultural care approach.

17. Outcomes of The Lesson Make the definition of intercultural health, disease and care. Discuss the relationship between culture and health. Analyze the impact of culture on the health and disease. Analyze intercultural dialogue and nursing models. Explain the importance of the intercultural perspective. To be sensitive and aware of the different cultures.

18. Why the project important for our hospital? Our hospital serves various patients from different cultures all regions of Turkey. Our hospital was selected as a tourism hospital by Health Ministry of Turkey. Inspite of most of our nurses graduated from university, they haven’t sufficient information about transcultural nursing. Our hospital is a trainig and research hospital, There are 500 nursing internship students for year from different schools.

19. OUR EXPECTATİONS FROM THE PROJECT? To increase awareness of our nurses about Transcultural Nursing. To disseminate good practices. To start to pilot applications. (Especially at maternity services and intensive care units) To teach our nurses transcultural nursing.
