N-1-1 Studies • TEP studies simultaneous outage of all combinations of two transmission elements, whether common mode or unrelated • Simultaneous outage of two elements is equivalent to having one of them IOS and then losing the other • TEP survived all combinations of two transmission elements • 15 TEP-owned singles plus Cholla-Saguaro are included in the TOLS tables

Extreme Contingency Studies Extreme contingency considered to be loss of all EHV transformers at a TEP substation (Tortolita, Vail or South): • TEP can survive loss of all EHV xfmrs at any substation: Tortolita, South, & Vail. • These outages are included in Tie Open Load System tables. TEP operates using “load Shed” tables • Fast switched reactive devices and/or direct load trip arming
