  2. Go to the following site • http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/widget/jdk6.jsp • If you have window at home, from the platform list box select “Windows” option and then click on “Continue” button

  3. You will be directed to the page shown below • Click on “Skip this Step” and you will be directed to the next page

  4. Click on jdk-6u17-windows-i586.exe to start downloading the Java Development Kit.

  5. The following screen shows up. Click the “save” button to save this application in your desktop or anywhere you like in your home computer. • Depending on the speed of your computer, it may take about 15 to 30 minutes to download this application.

  6. Before installing “jdk-6u17-windows-i586.exe”, install Blue jay application. • When “blue Jay” is successfully installed, double click on jdk-6u17-windows-i586.exe to install the Java development Kit. • Accept the terms and the conditions:

  7. You will be directed to the following screen. • Click on “Next button”

  8. Installation should start at this point. • Just wait until this step is complete and you are directed to the following page • Click “finish” button” to complete the work
