This project aims to improve image retrieval by enhancing data and tasks, including more visual and textual examples, Medical retrieval tasks, cross-language search, automatic annotation through classification, and interactive retrieval. It also addresses challenges like the availability of training data, web retrieval, and database restrictions. Funding is sought for developing and running the tasks, improving medical image databases and obtaining automated annotation data.
