  2. Service learning gets students involved in community activities. It gives students the abilities to learn and develop through active participation in well organized services that are created and their goal is to help the needs of the community; it is generally created or partnered with an elementary school, high school, colleges, or community service program, and with the community What Is Service Learning

Increase your understanding of your community and the needs it has Gain hands-on experience (possibly leading to an internship or job later) Grow your understanding of diverse cultures and communities Learn more about social issues and their root causes Improve your ability to handle issues and be open to change; become more flexible Connect with professionals and community members who you will learn from Grow a professional network of people you might connect with again later for jobs or internships Benefits of Service Learning for students

  5. Service in Action • In This Picture some college friends and I spent the afternoon in the mud refereeing a event called Mud Bowl held annually at my church.
