  2. European Recovery Program • The United States was helping to rebuild the Western European countries. • They wanted a stronger economy • It was established in June 5,1947 • They wanted a foundation for the countries Western Europe and repelling the threat of internal communism.

  3. George C. Marshall • Was the creator of the plan. • He was a general of the army. • He was in the service from 1902-1945 • He was born in Pennsylvania and died in Washington. • He was also Secretary of state and defense

More about the Marshall Plan • Marshall plan benefited the American economy too • The money would be used to buy goods from the untied states, the items were shipped across the Atlantic on American merchant vessels • The United States offered up to $20 billion for relief • By 1953 the United States had pumped in $13 billion, and Europe was standing on its feet again
