  2. “Gheorghe Atanasiu” vocational school, from Timisoara • Timisoara, the city lying on Bega Channel is well known for its vanguard spirit. The special teaching education first developed in Timisoara at the end of 19th century and it is the field in which our city distinguished a lot. "Gheorghe Atanasiu" Vocational School is located in 16 Gheorghe Doja street; it carries on the teaching objectives of the Private School founded on 1st October 1885 by Karl Schaffer. It was the first school for dumb - hearing impaired students in Timisoara. In 1893 the School for Hearing Deficient Students turns into an institute. The Townhall of Timisoara gave in use a new building, built purposefully for the Institute for Dumb - Hearing Students in Gheorghe Doja street. It was inaugurated on 2nd September 1897. In 1900 the building expands: two new wings of the school house were built, and a refectory building and a boarding school, too. The sports hall and the first floor of the boarding school were in commission on 22nd April 1909. • Gheorghe Atanasiu becomes the headmaster of the school on 1st April 1930. Between 1931 - 1938 the Medical, Acoustics, Phonic, Psychological, Pedagogical, Didactic, Methodology and Social Research Laboratory was set up. It worked under the name of "Special Vocational School" no. 2 until 2004 when it becomes "Gheorghe Atanasiu" Vocational School. Students with special educational needs learn in our school. They come from main stream schools and from special educational schools of Timisoara and Timis County. The aim closely followed both by students and teachers is students 'social and professional integration after graduating school. Our school also aims to create a domestic environment where students feel good and not isolated from the rest of the community.

  3. The mission of our school: To support the student's professional training and their social and professional integration starting with their vocational counseling depending on potentialities and skills, interests and professional aspirations, supply and demand.

  4. „PAUL POPESCU NEVEANU” Vocational School • Preschool and primary school, especially for children with hearing impairment was born in Galati in 1971, with 35 students enrolled in 3 classes and 6 teachers. Currently the „PAUL POPESCU NEVEANU” Vocational School prepares children in kindergarten, primary and secondary school and it also prepares the students that graduated the secondary school in food industry and travel industry. • Located in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Galati, named Tiglina I, the School for Hearing Impaired is an institution of reference for Romanian Special education

  9. School Center for Hearing Impaired, Craiova, Dolj • The school was founded in 1955 in Craiova, Dolj province. In the beginning it was called: “Professional Special School no. 18” • In 15 September 1992 the school is named School Center for Hearing Impaired.

Scholar Group Bivolarie • In this location, a former Austrian barracks, the school has functioned since 1943, when it was transferred from Cernauti, named “Institute for the deaf and blind”. • Bivolarie School Group is a follower of the Institute for the Blind and deaf, “M.S. Regina Maria” from Cernauti. • The mission: recovers and socially integrates children from all over the country.
