  7. A new CROC? • Children are different • World in which they live is different • Dynamic interaction with their world is better understood • So much we do not know about • Humbition- humility as we know so little, but ambition as we strive to make world better

A new CROC? • reconsider whether rights based approach is the best one • include a more explicit acknowledgment of CROC’s dependence on other factors in order to improve children’s lives • greater involvement by children in development and drafting • reduce involvement of 1st world countries in drafting, and increase involvement of 2nd and 3rd world countries • adopt multi-disciplinary approach to drafting, and one less reliant on lawyers • adopt a more explicit child developmental perspective • identify and address specific needs of specific groups of children
